Working with Children / Adolescents who display Harmful Sexual Behaviour

This one day course forms part of the Sexual Abuse programme which is comprised of 4 days of training focusing on different areas of Sexual Abuse.

This course is to increase awareness of harmful sexual behaviour's, as perpetrated by children or adolescents, and the pathways to developing these behaviour's.

Course Objectives:

  • To understand the difference between adults who sexually harm and children / young people with sexually harmful behaviour's
  • Understanding the differences between normative, inappropriate, problematic or abusive sexual behaviour's
  • Demonstrate an awareness of HSB by children and young people by either online or direct (offline) contact
  • Introduce models of risk assessment
  • Demonstrate an understanding of how to contextualise risk within various settings, namely education, community and family settings
  • Assess levels of need and determine appropriate responses at different levels
  • Practice considerations relating to contact issues where there is intra / extra familial abuse

Cost: £75 charge per person for all non-BCP Children's Service staff.

Venue:

  • A Hearing Loop is installed at this venue.
  • There is no parking on site during school hours.
