Management and Leadership

Whether you're an established or aspiring manager, our management and leadership faculty encourage the growth and development of leaders and managers across services for children in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole with shared responsibilities for outcomes.

We ensure managers have skills including:

  • data analysis
  • budget management
  • staff appraisal and managing performance.

We will offer a bespoke induction to all new managers who join our team at BCP Council.

We have a range of options to support professional development for all managers at different levels.

For social work practice supervisors and managers, opportunities are linked to the Post Qualified Standards for Practice Supervisors and Leaders in Children and Families Social Work.

Post Qualified (PQ) modules offered to managers include:

  • Improving Personal and Professional Performance (IPOP)
  • Preparation for Service Improvement Project (PSIP)
  • Service Improvement Project (SIP).

We can also support managers to undertake a MA in Leadership and Developing Services with Bournemouth University or undertake other relevant qualifications or Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for their service area.
